Introduced Native to Europe. Introduced to Michigan in the late 1800s and now a popular stocked sport fish. Thrives in cold streams and deep lakes. Not considered invasive in managed fisheries.

Cold, clear streams and deep inland lakes. Holds in undercut banks, deep pools, and spring holes. Moves shallower at night.
